  •  Marshall Plan: 
    Officially known as the European Recovery Program, the Marshall Plan was a U.S.-funded reconstruction program for Europe following World War II. During the four years beginning in July 1947, the United States provided $13 billion in aid to rebuild the European economies and, in the process, made lasting influences on European approaches to economic management.
