Georgia Cottage

Georgia Cottage in Mobile was built in 1840 by Col. John Murrell for his daughter. Located on Spring Street, it is notable for having been the home of two Alabama authors: Augusta Jane Evans Wilson, who purchased the home with earnings from her novels, and Eugene B. Sledge during his childhood. The Greek Revival home was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.
