William Christenberry Gallery
William Christenberry (1936-2016) was an Alabama-born artist whose works include painting and drawing, photography, sculpture, and assemblages that evoke a sense of memory and loss. Christenberry's best-known works are his series of photographs of the same buildings taken over long periods. He used these series to document a fading way of life by focusing on the decay and often disappearance of buildings and places that the artist knew all of his life.
